Welcome to our slope-side restaurant, Bagarstugan Bistro, located right by the Björnen lift in Åre Björnen — just steps from the slopes. Here we serve hearty mountain dishes with a unique twist, perfect for those who want to enjoy great food between runs. Expect flavorful meals that blend traditional Nordic ingredients with a modern touch, all in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
We cook food that feels right after a day outdoors. Flavors that warm you from the inside – like the aroma of a buttered frying pan or a broth that has been gently simmering while the snow falls outside. Made from ingredients we are proud of, sourced from nearby forests, waters, and farms. Food that doesn’t need explaining, only experiencing; the kind of food we ourselves would happily walk far through the snow for.

A Lodge with a long history
The story of Björnänge Lodge is both rich and dramatic. Overcoming financial challenges through the years has built pride and perseverance, allowing the lodge to be preserved and cared for through generations.
The main house was built in 1836, and the property originally operated as a working farm.
Even though times have changed, we’ve stayed true to our roots — carefully restoring the buildings to reflect how they once were, preserving their original charm and authenticity. Welcome to a place where history continues to live on.
