Welcome to a charming mountain cabin, originally built in 1915 and carefully renovated in 2023 to preserve its history while offering modern comfort. Inside, rustic log walls and a warming fireplace set the tone for cozy evenings after a day in the mountains. With a fantastic location and the opportunity to purchase a fishing permit for nearby Fröåtjärn, you’ll experience the full magic of mountain life with nature right on your doorstep.
The location offers easy access to the mountains, with the nearest lift, Björnen Lift, just 90 metres from the property. The Björnen lifts are open daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm during the winter season, allowing you to make the very most of your time on the slopes, even during the darker months.
After a full day exploring Åre’s ski system, simply hop on the Fjällgård Express lift and glide all the way back home on skis. If you’re skiing in the Björnen area, you can easily make your way back no matter where you finish your run.
If you’d like to mix up your skiing, cross-country trails and lighted tracks are just 600 meters away in Åre Björnen. There, you’ll also find a small grocery shop, pub, restaurants, ski rental, and lift ticket sales – everything you need for a comfortable stay. A larger ICA supermarket is located about 800 meters away along the E14 for all your essentials.
Arriving by train? The ski bus or a taxi will take you the easy four kilometers from the station to the cabin. Ski buses run daily between Duved and Björnen via Åre. For current schedules, check with Skistar. Fishing in the area is excellent, and day permits for Fröåtjärn can be purchased for those eager to cast a line.
